*Miss Clare Chiang was born and started her piano education in Taiwan. Her first public performances were accompanying her local church choirs and her high school orchestra in California. During her undergraduate in San Diego State University, Miss Chiang was involved in accompanying, teaching, and performing. Her private piano instructor in San Diego State University was Dr. Mitzi Kolar; who is an expert in pedagogical field as well as the co-author of the piano method book called “Celebrate Piano!.” Miss Chiang studied pedagogy with Dr. Kolar and earned her B.M. on piano performance. During her residence in San Diego, she accompanied students in SDSU and was also a staff accompanist at Grossmont College. Miss Chiang received the award of Kiwanis Club Chamber Music Scholarship on the last year of her undergraduate. Miss Chiang is currently studying her master degree in piano performance at California State Long Beach (Bob Cole Conservatory) with Dr. Shun-Lin Chou, who is an international concert pianist. While pursuing her performance degree, she also devotes herself in teaching piano to the younger generation and in accompanying events in the Orange County area.
*Kevin Kao was born in Taiwan before his family moved to California when he was nine years old and he started private piano lessons. His teachers, Aunt Lina, Dennis Alexander, Hsun Mei Chow, and Dr. Felix Chang, helped nurture his affinity for music. He received a Keyboard Area Talent Scholarship to attend Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB where he studied with Dr. Shun-Lin Chou and graduated Cum Laude with a BM in Piano Performance while touring and performing with the award winning vocal jazz group, Pacific Standard Time. After which, he received the Paul C. Stauffer Memorial Scholarship to attend SDSU to study piano pedagogy with Dr. Mitzi Kolar and performance with Dr. Karen Follingstad. He was also given the opportunity to teach class piano to music majors for two years while he obtained his MM in Piano Performance. Currently he spends his spare time learning about social media, copywriting, and creating websites for other music teachers while building up his own private studio.
